Get to know Leah from Cafè Lattè

Café Latté's incredible guest, Leah, took some time to answer some questions about the brand and herself. Here's what she had to say...

1. What do you like best about working for Café Latté?

I love that we’re such a close-knit team—we really are basically family.

2. Could you tell us a bit about the team?

We’re a team of 5 based in Sunny Brisbane. Martin & Pauline, the Directors and Owners, founded the brand over the decade ago after working in the industry for 30 years and seeing a niche in the market for affordable Women’s fashion that fits the Australian Woman. They’re SO hard working and very hands-on within the business—right down to the designing of the product. Annie and Jane are the dynamic duo who work with co-ordinating the production with our factories, designing garments and patterns, and daily fittings of garments.

3. Where does the inspiration come from for the beautiful prints used on your fabrics?

Martin designs a lot of our beautiful prints and draws inspiration from art and nature to suit our Australian lifestyle. His prints are often seen as adding wearable art into your wardrobe with pieces that you’ll love for years to come!

4. How does being an Australian business set Café Latté apart from other labels?

Over the last decade, we’ve really gotten to know who the Café Latté Woman is. We know what she loves and how she likes her fashion to fit. Being women of all different shapes, heights and sizes ourselves, we really pride ourselves on ensuring the range always has something for everyone.

5. What three words would you use to describe the Café Latté vibe?

Fun, Comfortable, Versatile.

6. How have you found adjusting to all of the changes in the world this year?

I’ve found myself really appreciating and being grateful for all of the little things in life that I think in years gone by we’ve taken for granted.

7. What’s next for Café Latté?

We'll be continuing to create beautiful and comfortable fashion (particularly given the events of 2020 and with so many of us leaning towards more comfortable fashion).

8. Describe your favourite outfit.

My Café Latté jeggings, a fun top, sparkly sneakers, and some statement earrings. It’s been my staple outfit this year! Comfortable + Fun!

9. Do you have any pets?

No! No pets yet. We’re getting a dog for Christmas—I just need to convince my beautiful husband first.

10. What are the most enjoyable and most difficult parts of presenting on TVSN?

The most enjoyable part is being able to share our beautiful range with the TVSN family and viewers, and knowing that even during this year, they’ve been able to shop from the comfort of their home. The most difficult part is worrying about running out of things to say!

11. What was your greatest fashion faux pas?

As a teenager during a singing competition, I wore a large yellow flower in my hair with a full-length white cheesecloth skirt and pink cheesecloth blouse. It doesn’t sound as awful as it looked. I assure you—it was absolutely a fashion faux pas!

12. What makes a woman beautiful?

Our smile. We all have one, and we can all wear it SO well! It can brighten not only our day but someone else’s!

13. Do you have a daily motto/mantra?

These are my top 3 absolute favourites:

1. When you learn, teach. When you get, give.
2. Every day is a new opportunity to make a new happy ending.
3. Start each day with a positive thought and a grateful heart.

14. If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?

To Melbourne to visit my beautiful family (and give them the BIGGEST hug in the world).
