How does Californian culture inspire you?

I have been inspired by California since I was a young girl. I was born and raised in Arizona and I dreamed of living in California. I loved the beaches, the fashion and the people from all over the world. 

When and where was your love of cosmetics born?

My love for cosmetics started at age 12. I was playing with makeup and mastered the art at age 14. I was lucky enough to get a job as a makeup artist at the mall at 14 and I have been hooked ever since.

 Why is Milli Rose different to other cosmetic brands on the market?

I created MILLI ROSE for myself and my friends. They’re not makeup artists and they used the same colours for years because they didn’t know how to choose or wear makeup. 

When I created the colours, I wanted them to be wearable and blend-able for those who were not experts in applying makeup.  I also wanted lips that would match with the eyes to take the guessing game out of choosing colours. 

Now women who wear MILLI ROSE can wear all the shadows and lipstick without being a professional makeup artist.  

Do you have a secret beauty tip that you can share with us?

Makeup is made from all different types of pigments that can generally be used on the eyes, lips and cheeks. So these products don’t have to be used on their designated area, you can use them of any part of your face!!

 What beauty product do you love to gift to your friends?

My favourite gift to give my friends is a lipstick. It is like giving a little treasure. You can never have too many! 

 Name the cosmetic product that you just can’t live without?

Mascara, I love lashes! Mascara helps to bring out the eyes and the true beauty in anyone! 

What are the latest beauty trends that have you excited?

I’m always excited about beauty products and trends! Currently I’m seeing a lot of high-end packaging as many designers such as Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Shoo and Gucci are coming out with their own beauty lines. The packaging and the price are like an expensive handbag!

 What’s the best thing about living in sunny LA?

The sun and the air, I could sit outside all day and just look up at the blue skies. I travel a lot and I did not realize how unique the skies are in California. So beautiful and filled with things to be grateful for!
