Tanzanite is the blue to violet to purple variety of the mineral zoisite.Tanzanite is said to be 1000 times rarer than diamonds. This is due to the fact that it is only found in one very small area of the world - The Merelani Hills of Tanzania, which is where it gets its name.Tanzanite can be violetish blue, similar to a sapphire colour, or much more purplish.The gemstone was created millions of years ago by the same tectonic shift that created Mount Kilimanjaro and the Great Rift Valley of Tanzania. This once in a lifetime event makes tanzanite one of the world’s most sought-after gemstones.Tanzanite is relatively new to the coloured stone galaxy, discovered in 1967, while it has been proclaimed the most important gemstone discovery in over 2000 years.

• Total combined minimum gemstone weight for this piece is 2.26ct.
• Expertly crafted in 9ct Yellow Gold with a metal weight of 5 grams.

The pendant measures approx. 37mm in length and approx. 30mm wide.
The bale has internal dimensions of approx. 6x2.5mm and can take chains up to 2mm.
This piece includes a Prince of Wales link chain measuring 1mm in width and 45-50cm in length. The chain features a bolt ring clasp.
