We catch up with the lovely Ashley Jones to discuss life, work and all things jewellery. Discover what inspires her sparkling new vermeil on sterling silver jewellery collection.
What do you love most about your job?
The relationships have been amazing. As an actor, I find it very rewarding to put myself in someone else’s shoes for a while and discover their heart and soul.
What do you consider to be your career highlight so far?
Good question! I loved playing Daphne in True Blood, but the most memorable role is Bridget Forrester. However, I’m directing my first movie in a few weeks, and this could well be my career highlight. So, stay tuned!!
Who has had the most significant influence on you?
Undoubtedly my mother. She is an unbelievable source of strength for me.
Where does your love of jewellery and silver come from?
My mother. She has a classic, elegant style.
What inspires your jewellery designs?
I want my pieces to compliment your personality and let your light shine through. I like a modern, feminine feel: simple, classic, buildable pieces. The hope was to create a capsule-type collection that would be a base. You can keep adding to it or wear it with your existing pieces.
What is your favourite piece in the collection, and why?
I love my horse ring! I stack it at the top of my other rings. It has an understated elegance but still makes a statement. My bracelet has become a staple, too. I wear it every day. You asked for one piece, but I have so many! The necklaces I wear layered every day. And the diamond half hoops have been in my ears for a while.
Do you have any special tips on wearing or collecting jewellery?
Wear what makes you feel most like yourself…. and what makes you feel special. These pieces are designed to last a lifetime and meld into your style. There are weeks when I never take off a particular pair of earrings! They became part of me, basically.
Is there a piece of jewellery that you just can’t leave home without?
Right now, it’s my diamond half hoop earrings. They haven’t left my ears in weeks. But I would say that it varies, depending on my mood.
What silver piece do you love to gift to friends and family?
My fan drop vermeil earrings are a favorite. I also love the concept behind the key pendant necklace. It makes an incredible gift.
